Transparency & accountability

The record, year by year.

Budgets, annual reports and financial statements on request. Most years are marked by what was not funded as much as by what was. That is the honest record of a community organisation growing faster than its income.

Income by year

Eight years of funding, including the empty ones.

Income is shown in US dollars. Regional figures are drawn from the school's donor records. 2020–2022 were pandemic years: schools were closed and no new funding was raised.

What the money was for, and what it could not cover.

Financial procedures

Who authorises what.

A plain-language summary of how the organisation handles money. A full policy is available on request.

The committee approves the plan

The school management committee approves the annual plan and each project budget before money is spent.

The head teacher authorises purchases

Day-to-day purchases are authorised by the head teacher. Receipts are kept at the school office.

The director reports

The director reports to the committee and to the German friends' association, which receives an annual account of how funds were used.

Project money is ring-fenced

A gift designated to a project is used for that project. If a project is fully funded, we ask the donor before moving a gift to another line.

The honest list

What is still missing.

Financial statements for 2023, 2024 and 2025 are shared with donors and partners on request. 2026 is a part-year. We have no annual report for 2020–2022 because the schools were closed and no new funding was raised.

If a document exists, we will send it. If it does not, we will say so.
