Who we are

What this website collects
This is a static website. It does not set cookies, does not run advertising trackers, and does not build a profile of you. If you only read the pages, we do not learn who you are.
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard server logs, including your IP address, for security and reliability. Those logs are held by Cloudflare under its own privacy terms.
Cookies and analytics
We do not set cookies. The site is designed so that a cookie banner is unnecessary. A cookieless analytics service (Plausible) is included as a commented-out snippet in the page source; it is not active. If we enable it, it will not use cookies or collect personal data.
The contact form
If you write to us through the contact form, your email app opens with your message ready to send to our office address. Nothing is sent until you press send in your own email app. We use your name, email, topic and message only to reply and keep a record of the enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without asking.
Donations
This website does not process card payments itself. When a card or PayPal link is active, you are taken to Stripe or PayPal and their privacy policies apply. We receive the information the provider shares with us — typically your name, email address and the amount — so that we can receipt the gift and report on it. We never see or store your full card details.
If you give by mobile money or bank transfer, we receive the confirmation details from you or from the provider. We keep those records for financial accountability.
Children and photographs
We do not publish the full name of any child, and we do not publish the school's exact location. Photographs of children are published only with guardian consent. If you believe a photograph of you or a child in your care appears without consent, write to us and we will remove it while we check.
How long we keep information
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to answer them and to maintain a record of the conversation. Donation records are kept for the period required for financial reporting and audit. Server logs are held by Cloudflare for its standard retention period.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hopefulsmiles2016@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Third-party services
The site uses an OpenStreetMap map on the contact and story pages. Loading the map makes a request to openstreetmap.org, which may receive your IP address. Payment links, when active, go to Stripe or PayPal. We do not embed advertising, social-media pixels or Google Fonts.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. A material change will be noted on the page for at least one month.
